The research topic seeks manuscripts that propose novel algorithms to negotiate better channel utilization among the large number of communication channels that are expected in advanced wireless technologies; EDA solutions and tools to provide lower power, higher bandwidth and better channel utilization for wireless designs and for programmable transmitters and receivers; techniques to secure the communication in the wireless domain and the hardware components at both ends of the communication channel; and novel communication architectures and methods to provide significant adaptability and upgradability (SDR) in the communication and dramatically simplify the transmitters and receivers implementations.
Research in this domain is quickly growing and novel solutions are sought by many industry players and government agencies, including DARPA and NSF. This year, DARPA has launched its grand challenge on spectrum collaboration, while NSF has announced their new program on advanced wireless technologies.
