Steve Trimberger's Moment

It was in the early 80s, I was giving my first DAC presentation. DAC was much more relaxed in the early 80's, before there was an EDA industry, and the session was running late. Unfortunately, I had the last paper of the day. The cocktail party had already started in the hall just outside the open doors of the room when I got up to speak. Watching the attendees stream out, I realized I could not compete with the clink of glasses and animated conversation that was DAC personal networking. I quickly finished my talk and joined them. And I never forgot that DAC was as much about personal networking as it was about formal presentations.
